The Rippel Foundation is pleased to announce that Dr. Anu Gupta has been
appointed to the Board of Trustees, effective July 2023.
A primary care physician by training, Dr. Gupta is deeply committed to health equity. Over the last 20 years, she has developed deep expertise in philanthropy, social responsibility, communications, and multi-sectoral partnerships. Most recently, she served as the first leader of social responsibility and ESG for McKinsey & Company, where she was responsible for defining and driving its environmental and social responsibility strategies. She also re-envisioned and launched McKinsey.org, a philanthropic initiative that brings organizational tools and capability building programs to help strengthen nonprofit talent in order to amplify their impact.
In a past role as a member of the Rippel leadership team, Dr. Gupta helped to shape organizational strategy for ReThink Health and established Rippel’s communications function. Previously, at Johnson & Johnson, she oversaw large grantmaking portfolios in global health. She has served on the boards of SEED Global Health and Funders Concerned About AIDS. She holds a B.A. degree in English and American Literature from Brown University and an M.D. degree from the Yale University School of Medicine.
